Beyonce is no stranger to fitness and exercise, seeing as how she’s been on the go for over a decade now both singing, dancing, and acting her way into our hearts. And with her most recent project, she’ll be putting her fitness skills to good use, supporting First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative to combat childhood obesity.
Beyonce has re-written and re-recorded one of her songs for middle school students across the U.S. to perform a pre-choreographed dance exercise at 1:42 p.m. on May 3, and will be starring in the video that teaches the students the dance moves. The video, entitled “Let’s Move! Flash Workout” is part flash mob, part workout video, and will join in First Lady Obama’s efforts to get children interested and involved in physical activity.
This will not be the first time that Beyonce and Michelle Obama have been associated. Beyonce famously performed at President Obama’s Inauguration in January 2009.
It is so wonderful to see a star using her fame for the greater good, particularly when it comes to our nation’s children. With stars being so influential to the choices of children and teens alike, it’s nice to see Beyonce doing her part to help them make healthier decisions, don’t you think?
